CHAMPIONSHIP POINT SYSTEM

Racers who participated in 2010 are members for 2011 without dues payment. Should RMS not schedule five or more races in 2011, all current memberships will be extended for 2012 without additional dues payment.

Each member receives 200 points toward the Season Championship upon activation of membership.  The membership must be activated before competition begins. No points will be awarded retroactively.  Membership is in the Rocky Mountain Superchargers (RMS) and a combined Season Championship is awarded for the Pro/Comp Championship Series and the Pro/Supercharged All Stars.

Points are awarded on this formula: Winner (25 points), Runner up (15 points), Semi-Finalist (10 points), Participant (5 points).  Members who do not attend have 5 points deducted from their total.  Members who attend but are unable to participate for reasons of mechanical failures or illness will not have the 5 point deduction. 

At a minimum, Participant points will be awarded to any member staging under power. 

Racers should consult the website for the latest points posting.  If a racer has a question or concern about a points award, it must be addressed to Ed Arcuri within one week following the event about which the question or concern has arisen.  Contact information is on the home page and elsewhere on the website.

Points are only awarded to RMS members and only for the position reached during eliminations.  Guest racers are always welcome and we appreciate their participation but Championship points are not awarded to guest racers.

In our modified Chicago style format, we award the Semi-Finalist points to racers in positions 3 and 4 when the final round selection is made.
